We are happy to announce that the Greater Lincolnshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy has now been published. The Greater Lincolnshire Nature Partnership (GLNP) is proud to have worked alongside Lincolnshire County Council (the responsible authority), North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council, with support and guidance from Natural England, to develop the Greater Lincolnshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy (GLLNRS). The GLLNRS provides a framework for nature recovery across Greater Lincolnshire. It identifies and maps existing valuable habitats, highlights opportunities for habitat creation and restoration and establishes local priorities for enhancing nature. The strategy will also integrate with Biodiversity Net Gain and other environmental initiatives, ensuring a coordinated approach to nature recovery while helping to direct public funding where it can have the greatest impact. The top five aims of the strategy are: Create More, Bigger, Better and Joined up sites for wildlife, following the Lawton Principles. Increase the populations and distribution of key and rare species. Enhance the benefits that nature provides to people, supporting healthier and happier communities. Strengthen agricultural resilience across Greater Lincolnshire by supporting key processes such as pollination. Reduce the impacts of climate change on nature and local communities, such as the effects of flooding and drought. As we move into the delivery phase, the GLNP is excited to continue supporting the responsible authority in implementing the strategy and working with partners across Greater Lincolnshire to turn its ambitions into action.
