We're excited to say that the GLNP hosted the first meeting of the Greater Lincolnshire Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) Group last week. The new Group aims to tackle the issue of invasive non-native species with a coordinated and strategic approach, providing a forum for those with particular interest/expertise in the management of these species. Our first meeting focused on Floating Pennywort (Hydrocotyle ranunculoides), one of the UK's most aggressive invasive non-native species. Experts from a range of public bodies, internal drainage boards, universities, environmental non-governmental organisations and more, got together to discuss the impacts, current distribution, management and potential eradication of the species. The group will begin with discussing different INNS to determine priorities in Greater Lincolnshire before tackling other issues including data and funding.
