Most of the local authorities in Greater Lincolnshire have declared a climate emergency, and they, and other Partners, are looking to plant trees for carbon capture in order to help to achieve the target of net zero carbon emissions. The GLNP believe in planting 'the right tree in the right place' and as such we have produced some guidance to help people achieve this. Trees have many benefits to society and the wider environment, but carefully planning must take place before any tree planting scheme in order to promote nature in the best way possible.
