Exciting line-up of speakers announced for GLNP conference

The full programme for this year's GLNP conference has now been unveiled.

Drivers of change: making sense of new opportunities for nature, will focus on net gain and natural capital and look at the opportunities and challenges they present.

Speakers will include CIEEM England Policy Group member Dr Martina Girvan giving an overview of natural capital for policymakers and environmental managers and Rachel Hoskin of Footprint Ecology looking at the practical implementation of biodiversity net gain.

They will join those previously announced including Technical Advisor for Kings Crops, Jim Egan, taking a look at what natural capital means in relation to farm businesses and Conservation and Planning Lead Advisor for Natural England, Nick Squirrell, giving an insight into how biodiversity net gain is being achieved in Dorset.

Also confirmed are Cody Levine from Worcestershire County Council speaking about their experience of bringing different partners together to get the right net gain policies in place and the GLNP's own Luke Bamforth looking at our work to date on natural capital and how we are working to support Partners in utilising the concept.

Finally, a speaker from The Wildlife Trusts will consider all of this in the context of Nature Recovery Networks.

The event will take place at The Showroom in Lincoln on Wednesday, 6 November.
