The Greater Lincolnshire Nature Partnership was shocked and saddened last week to learn of the untimely passing of our Vice-Chairman Richard Chadd. Richard was the founding chairman of the Partnership, between 2012 and 2018, following on from a long and distinguished period of leading the predecessor organisation, the Lincolnshire Biodiversity Partnership. Everyone who knew Richard benefitted from his warm enthusiasm, his supportive encouragement and his deep knowledge and love of Lincolnshire's wildlife. As an ambassador for wildlife, and for the work of partner organisations to conserve and enhance it, Richard was in his element, inspiring all those he met to get involved and to stay involved. Always a welcoming and friendly presence, Richard embodied the spirit of tolerance and inclusivity, a model for how to act and how to co-operate in the ever complex world of nature conservation. The Partnership - and Lincolnshire as a whole - has lost a great advocate and a true friend. Our deepest sympathies go out to Richard's family and his many friends at this difficult time.
